Mustangs’ defensive lineman Deionte Knight practiced with the NFL’s Washington Commanders at their rookie mini-camp last week — an experience many Canadian football players dream of, but rarely achieve.

Stephen Lecce, Ontario’s Minister of Education and a former USC president is apologizing for participating in a “slave auction” at Western’s Sigma Chi fraternity in 2006. 

Western has committed $800,000 towards the USC’s Free the Dot. program, which provides free menstrual products on campus. The funding will expand the program to cover washrooms beyond the UCC next year.

Four Mustangs were selected in the 2022 CFL draft, while Deionte Knight also received NFL invites.
