In a press release issued today, student programs officer candidate Harry Orbach-Miller has been awarded two demerit points by the elections governance committee.

The SPO candidate violated section 12.1 of bylaw #2 which states that the colour purple may not be used in any campaign material.

Orbach-Miller published a survey on his campaign’s Facebook page that, according to the EGC, had a purple theme colour. The incident is reported to have happened around 6 p.m. on March 2.

Orbach-Miller is the first of the SPO candidates to receive any demerit points. According to USC secretary treasurer Isaac Jacobi, SPO candidates are allowed a maximum of 20 demerit points before being disqualified from the race.
